TECHNOLOGICAL PROCESS OF ROTATIONAL MOULDING

Rotational moulding consists of 4 steps:

1. LOADING

TECHNOLOGICAL PROCESS OF ROTATIONAL MOULDING


A certain quantity of weighed plastic material, liquid or in powder, is poured into the open mould. Then the mould is closed using specific clamps (or bolts).







2. HEATING

TECHNOLOGICAL PROCESS OF ROTATIONAL MOULDINGThe mould is put into the oven and it is rotated around two perpedicular axes. The mould, usually made of metal, becomes hot and the material therein contained increases in temperature. The material melts and adheres to the mould in succeeding layers.




3. COOLING

TECHNOLOGICAL PROCESS OF ROTATIONAL MOULDING

The mould is moved to a cooling zone where the circulation of air and/or nebulized water is used to decrease temperature until material hardens. Rotation continues in order to avoid that material drains off.





4. UNLOADING

TECHNOLOGICAL PROCESS OF ROTATIONAL MOULDINGOnce cooled, the mould reaches the unloading zone where it is opened and the molded product is extracted. The mould is ready to start a new cycle.
